Crandall Engineering has recently modified its ownership structure to expand the employee ownership and to create a long-term and sustainable process for the growth of its shareholder employee group.
“This will now become an annual process with set criteria for employees and a formalized mentorship program that details a clear path to ownership for those who are interested”, explained Bruce Baird, the company’s COO and new shareholder. “Operationally, we can now work with individuals, very early in their careers, who have a desire to someday become business owners. We can identify how everyone can bring special value to the company and work to develop their careers. Whether you are a technical guru, love project management or whatever else that brings value, you can experience the privilege of owning your own business”, he added. This comment was echoed by new shareholder Scott Rogers, “I am thrilled by how this process provides clarity and builds the diversity of the ownership group. It is designed so that everyone brings something different to the table and makes the team stronger in their own way.”
In February 2017, the President, Mike Cormier, announced the first group of new employee shareholders, growing the group from 4 to 10 partners with representation at the company’s three offices in Moncton, Fredericton and Saint John.
